I've been sewing since the summer of 2008, but I feel like I've been sewing about a year in terms of my experience and knowledge level. I have so little time for sewing because I have two little boys who are very attached to their mama.

I'm infatuated with costumes and fine fabrics. Sewing feels to me like playing with Legos, except you get to use cloth instead of blocks and the end result is something that you can actually use.

I was always terribly intrigued by sewing, but never gave myself permission to dive in, make mistakes, and be a little dorky about it until 2008. I had just moved to Colorado from California and had a little extra free time. I bought a sewing machine, made a pair of pajama pants, and progressed from there.

This blog is one part chronicle, one part journal, and one part an attempt to dip my toe into the online sewing community. Enjoy!
